UAB DRTC Metrics & Health Services Research Core :

The Metrics & Health Services Research (MHSR) Core addresses a fundamental challenge in research on prevention and control: to generate the knowledge that will allow us to bridge the gap that currently separates scientific evidence from clinical and public health practice.  Narrowing and then eliminating this gap requires research that goes from bench to bedside to community; i.e., from bench to traditional clinical trials (phase 1 translational research), and beyond that from traditional clinical trials to implementation for patients and populations (phase 2 translational research). The overall goal of the Metrics & Health Services Research (MHSR) Core is to provide the expertise and infrastructure required to (i) create new knowledge in the prevention and control of diabetes and cardiometabolic disease; and (ii) effectively and reproducibly implement developed prevention and control strategies.
