Overview
he Clinical Core of the Michigan Diabetes Research Center (MDRC) provides expertise and services to support basic biomedical research, research focused on the translation of basic science findings into early phase clinical trials, and the testing of treatments related to diabetes in human subjects.
Services
The MDRC Clinical Core:
- Recruitment Services
Provides services to facilitate the recruitment of human subjects including access to a Diabetes Research Registry, assistance using the Michigan Medicine electronic medical record to construct Best Practice Advisories (BPAs), and assistance in accessing the Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) managed care data base of over 900,000 patients to identify and recruit potential research subjects.
- Clinical Research Unit (CRU)
Provides clinical research services and space including 4 examination rooms and a specimen processing laboratory
- Chemistry Laboratory
Provides laboratory expertise and state-of-the-art analytical services through its Chemistry Laboratory.
- Biostatistical Services
Provides both routine and non-routine biostatistical services to assist with experimental design, power calculations, data management, and data analysis.
