Research

The Duke Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Nutrition at Duke University Medical Center is devoted to compassionate and sophisticated care of patients with disorders related to the endocrine system including: diabetes, osteoporosis and other bone diseases, disorders of cholesterol and lipids, pituitary and adrenal abnormalities, and thyroid and parathyroid disease.

Our mission is three-fold. We seek to:

  • Deliver state-of-the-art clinical service to our patients with diabetes and other endocrine disorders
  • Generate new knowledge to advance our specialty through clinical and basic science research
  • Train physicians, students and other health care providers in the principles and practice of endocrinology
